Doing a renovation is stressful in and of itself, stomach but doing one in a large, pre-war, full service condo in Midtown NYC has a set of challenges all its own. As a first-time renovator, I had no idea where to begin with the total apartment upgrade I needed to complete that included a full kitchen gut and remodel. Marvin got a feel for my esthetic and price-range and designed the space beautifully from floor to ceiling. He always presented me with a manageable amount of options, helped me talk through each, and never pushed his own agenda (although he was happy to give his true opinion, as well). In addition, in a building with a tremendous amount of paperwork to complete and inspections to get, Marvin was totally on top of things; the management office loved working with him. I was in town for only a few days at the beginning of a six week renovation and felt totally confident about the project and was always kept apprised of the work. In any project like this there are details that are bound to go awry, medicine because that is the nature of any work involving mutliple contractors and purveyors. Marvin's attention to detail and his organizational skills kept us abreast of these issues and how they affected the project and the bottom line.

I needed to replace six window shades in two rooms. Marvin, capsule who happens to live in my building was recommended by my neighbor, who had used his services. What a pleasant experience! He is conscientous and courteous. Has a good sense of design, but doesn't try to impose his views. He uses very professional and affordable contractors and completed the job on time! I then promptly used him for a small painting job in one room. Perfect!
